Welcome to the CPS Elementary Music Page!
Students at Washington and Parkview elementary schools attend music once each week for 45 minutes, with an additional 45 minute session on a Friday four or five times throughout the year. Classes at each grade level share what they have learned by presenting an evening performance once during the school year. Please use the tabs above to find information regarding the topics we are studying each month and our performance schedule.
We have more ukuleles!!
Through a grant from the Charlotte Education Foundation we have added seven new Makala Waterman ukuleles to our music room sets at each of the elementary schools! Thank you Charlotte Education Foundation for all you do to support our students!
Thank you to our elementary PTOs for providing the funds for our second grade kazoos again this year! What a wonderful musical tool for learning about pitch and reading rhythms!
Our amazing kazoos were made at the Kazoobie Kazoo Factory in Beaufort County, South Carolina. You can watch kazoos made there and even visit the kazoo museum.
